Wednesday 10th May

Leaving Dartmouth at 08:20, with a reef due to the forecasted wind conditions, we headed towards Start Point.

We were at Start Point around 11:00 and continued south to give us a better angle to clear Bolt Head.

Swift II was just ahead at this point and we were lucky enough to be accompanied by dolphins again.

Swift II decided to go into Salcombe, however we decided to continue to Plymouth.

Wind increased but we motor sailed, reaching the Mewstones around 16:00.

We arrived at Sutton Harbour around 17:30, where we were warmly welcomed by South West Gaffers.

Supper was at  The Box , where we were given a very interesting talk about the history of the figure heads, that were hanging from the ceiling, followed by a lovely fish pie and Eton mess for dessert.
